JIANGSU ART MUSEUM

Nanjing, China 2006

2nd prize in international invited competition 2005

The Jiangsu Art Museum in Nanjing showcases both traditional and contemporary Chinese art. Mainly foreign offices were invited to participate in the architecture competition. PES-Architects finished as runner-up in the competition, with first prize awarded to the German firm KSP Engel und Zimmermann Architects. Nanjing is China’s historical capital. Our plan was to create an artificial hill at the centre of the city, providing a view over the ancient imperial garden.
